Lower deformation under load
Higher compressive and flex modulus and increased hardness
Chemically inert–can be used in strong alkali and in HF, where glass reinforced compounds fail
Good initial wear and rubbing or sliding characteristics in both dry and water applications
Frequently used in piston rings to reduce cylinder wall wear
